This wine is the perfect balance of 50% Grenache and 50% Syrah grapes grown at Paredon Vineyard. This vineyard is located on the oceanside of the Santa Barbara mountain range. The 2009 Paredon Ridge has a rich ruby color with aromas of leather, black cherry, pepper and spice. Hints of caramel, blueberry and a touch of cinnamon spice round out this wine with medium tannins and a smooth finish.
Quite dark for the grape, this wine from the Carpinteria estate of Rick and Penny Morales starts off filling the glass with aromas of floral perfume with a touch of forest floor. Flavors of black cherry and cedar on the front with black licorice and black pepper on the mid-palate. It rounds out with a spicy finish and strong tannins.
From a vineyard perched above the coastal town of Carpinteria comes this rich and spicy wine, with aromas of red currant, elderberry, crushed thyme, ginger and rose petals. The spicy character carries to the distinctive palate, where rosemary, thyme and lamb-meat savoriness meets with enough red cherry fruit to stay rich. 92 points
