The grapes for this wine were grown by Ryan Carr in the Los Olivos District of Santa Barbara County at Open Gate Vineyard. The grapes were hand harvested and gently pressed. The wine was fermented in stainless steel and aged 3 months in French oak barrels. Vermentino is a crisp, refreshing, light-bodied white wine with aromas of peach blossom and lemon zest followed by soft notes of honey and cream with a dazzling acidity that carries through the finish.

This Sauvignon Blanc was grown in the heart of the Los Olivos District at Coquelicot & Big Pond Vineyards. The juice was cold fermented in stainless steel and only aged for 5 months to keep the flavors vibrant and bright. This Sauvignon Blanc is crisp, elegant and fresh. A brilliant nose of lemon grass is accompanied by aromas of cantaloupe, grapefruit, and hints of tropical fruit that ease you into a round mid-palate of citrus and soft florals. The wine finishes with lifting acidity and a long finish that will linger. A perfect pairing with crab, oysters, or light fish.

This Sauvignon Blanc was grown by Ryan Carr in the heart of the Los Olivos District in Santa Barbara County. Open Gate Vineyard has a fine, sandy loam soil with a mixture of rock and limestone. The warm days and cool nights make for ideal conditions for these grapes. The grapes were harvested by hand and then gently pressed. The wine was cold fermented in stainless steel to capture the incredible flavors this vineyard produced and then aged for five months. This Sauvignon Blanc opens with lemongrass and citrus on the nose, followed by crisp flavors of tropical fruit and toast on the palate. It's high acidity lingers on the tongue, while inviting you for more.

This Chardonnay comes from Hine Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills of Santa Barbara County. The golden juice was slowly fermented in new French oak barrels and then aged 18 months in neutral French oak barrels. Through this processes, the wine gained just the right overtones of oak and beautifully rounded out. Waves of toasted caramel and honey will fill your glass on the nose, followed by a smooth, citrus finish on the palate.

This Rosé was made from Grenache grapes grown at Kærskov Vineyard in the Los Olivos District and farmed by Ryan Carr. The fruit was hand picked and gently pressed to produce a delicate pale pink color. The juice was then fermented in stainless steel and aged for five months. This dry rosé is light and crisp with aromas of strawberry, tangerine, and citrus followed by light floral notes, honeysuckle and a hint of peach.

Our Late Harvest Viognier is from Lyons Vineyard located in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley. The grapes were left on the vine until late November to ripen to a golden perfection. This sweet wine was barrel fermented using only native yeasts which brought out the bright, vibrant flavors of the sunlight captured in each of the golden berries.

This is the first wine made by Carr Winery in the style of the Portuguese, Método Portuguese. We allowed the grapes to ripen to the highest possible sugar levels. The fruit was then fermented in small bins and foot stomped to extract the deepest flavors. The fermentation was then stopped keeping the slightest amount of residual sugar and then aged 4 years in French oak barrels. The wine is smooth with candied cherry and peppers on the mid palate with a big long finish. Perfect after any meal.

The Sta. Rita Hills AVA is known for producing some of the highest quality Pinot Noir grapes in the world. The unique micro-climate allows for a long ripening season which is ideal for delicate Pinot Noir grapes. This pinot is from Rio Vista Vineyard and Zotovich Vineyard. We aged this Pinot for 20 months in French oak barrels. An approachable yet complex Pinot Noir, this wine opens with aromas of bright plum and black currant. The body is inviting, with notes of clove, cola, and cedar, and finishes with bright acidity and silky tannins.

This Pinot Noir is from Zotovitch Vineyard in Sta. Rita Hills. Aged for 18 months in neutral French Oak barrels. The wine showcases a beautiful ruby hue in the glass. Complex and expressive on the nose, with aromas of dark cherry and plum, interwoven with savory notes, sandlewood, and a touch of oak. This wine has a wonderfully rich, silky mouthfeel with flavors of red cherry, raspberry, and cola in every sip.

This Grenache from Lyons Vineyard in the Los Olivos District is a delightful and well-balanced wine showcasing aromas of dark berries, plum, and clove spice. Aged 18 months in French oak this medium bodied wine has a rich palate with hints of vanilla, cola, and cherry.

This head trained Grenache grown at Kærskov Vineyard in the Los Olivos District was made using our hand rolled whole cluster technique. Each cluster was placed in small fermenters where they were very gently rolled by hand making sure not to break any of the stems. The yeast penetrates the skin of the berry and ferments the juice inside allowing for optimum skin contact during fermentation. The pressure inside the berries builds until they explode. This approach to winemaking creates a very delicate fruitful wine with a silky rich finish.

This wine is made from three unique vineyards throughout Santa Barbara County: Tierra Alta Vineyard, Lyons Vineyard, and Kærskov Vineyard. With its pleasing plum/ruby color and delicate cherry aroma, it entices right from the start. On the palate, the soft tannins, excellent acidity, and juicy candied notes create a harmonious and mouthwatering tasting experience.

Lyons Vineyard is a 10-acre vineyard focusing on Rhône varietals including Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Viognier. First planted in 2009 with one acre each of Grenache and Viognier, the vineyard was expanded in 2017 under Ryan Carr's vineyard management to include additional varietals. The vines are planted 5x3, creating competition in such an ultra-high-density environment and producing small, dark-skinned grapes. The soil is a mixture of sandy loam, clay, and ancient riverbed with rich nutrients and great drainage.

Kærskov Vineyard was planted in 2014 by Ryan Carr and is located in the Los Olivos District AVA. The soil is a nice mix of clay-lome and river stone, which creates great drainage with rich nutrients. This Syrah has a deep ruby color with violet hues. It is rich with a bouquet of crushed blackberries and fresh blueberries followed by a smooth finish of vanilla bean, cherries and a touch of white pepper. The wine is a medium to full bodied red with a smooth finish and soft velvety tannins.

This Sangiovese from Open Gate Vineyard was fermented and aged in a clay amphora allowing for the purest expression of the grapes. Aged for 6 months on the skins and an additional 18 months after pressing extracted deep flavors and structure from the fruit. The wine has an expressive, round, fruit forward nose with aromas of tea spice and ripe plum followed by a textured mid-palate with notes of deep red cherry.

The Sangiovese comes from two vineyards in Santa Ynez Valley: Woodstock Vineyard and Open Gate Vineyard. Both of these vineyards are farmed by Ryan Carr. The wine is aged 20 months in French oak barrels. This deep red Sangiovese has great aromatic intensity of juicy red fruit and tea spice followed by a hint of molasses on the palate and a rich, velvety finish.

The wine is well-balanced providing a rich mouthfeel and flavors of dark fruit, baking spices and a comforting finish of vanilla and caramel.

This Cabernet Franc comes from two vineyards planted in the Santa Ynez Valley. This region of the valley has a very hot climate with many summer days over 100 degrees producing the perfect growing conditions for these grapes. The rocky soils of the foothills stress the vines into producing smaller clusters with richer flavors. The wine is aged for 20 months in French oak barrels. The wine has aromas of forest floor, bell pepper, and mushroom with a juicy mouthfeel that is followed by flavors of dark chocolate and blue fruit. A firm, round finish rounds out this striking wine.

The 332 clone of Cabernet Franc has proven itself to be a standout in Santa Barbara County. 332 originates from Bordeaux, France and captures the classic flavors of the Cabernet Franc grape. This wine is made from 100% Cabernet Franc 332 grown in the East end of the Santa Ynez Valley. From the beginning, this wine opens with notes of blueberries, followed by dark chocolate and raspberries. It’s inviting and bright tannins make for a refreshing yet cozy tasting experience, with a subtle spice carrying through the smooth finish.

This Cabernet Franc comes from Rossi Vineyard in the Happy Canyon AVA of Santa Barbara County. Happy Canyon is the perfect location for Cabernet Franc, and Ryan Carr planted Rossi Vineyard in 2007 to show how well these vines could perform in this area. The long hot summer days and hard rocky clay soils allow the vines to produce deep, rich flavors. 30% whole cluster berries are used in fermentation and this wine has a nose filled with dark fruits and peppers followed by a soft, yet gripping mid-palate and a long finish with notes of forest floor and dark berries.

This complex Cabernet Franc opens with a touch of chili pepper spice on the nose followed by rich dark chocolate inviting you in for the first sip. Silky tannins wash over the palate with notes of black plum and blackcurrant, highlighting the supple nature of the fruits.
